Winter is the best time of year for a Marina Cruise Dinner in Dubai. The summer heat is gone, the evenings by the water are cool and comfortable, and the open upper deck becomes the best seat in the house. From late December the sky next to the Marina also fills with drones, which makes this the busiest and most beautiful season on the water.

What is a Marina Cruise Dinner?
It is an evening boat trip through Dubai Marina with dinner on board. You sail past the Marina towers, JBR and Ain Dubai while you eat. A typical evening includes:
- An international buffet dinner with separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian counters (all food is halal)
- Soft drinks and water
- Music and a live Tanoura dance show
- A choice of the open upper deck or the air-conditioned lower deck

The drone show: 20 December to 10 January
This winter the free drone show runs from Sunday 20 December 2026 to Sunday 10 January 2027. Over a thousand lit-up drones fly in formation over the sea next to Bluewaters Island and The Beach at JBR, just outside the Marina. There is no ticket and no booking.
Last season there were two shows every night, at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The times for this season may be different, so check the official Dubai events channels a few days before you go.

Can you see the drone show from the cruise?
We would rather be honest with you: not really. Our dinner cruises sail inside the Marina canal, and the drones fly over the open sea by Bluewaters and JBR, with tall towers in between. The timings also clash. Most cruises board around 8:00 PM and return around 10:30 PM, which is right across both of last season's show times.
The good news is that it is easy to enjoy both. Here are two simple plans:
Plan 1: Two evenings
Watch the drone show from the beach at JBR on one night. Take the Marina Dhow Cruise Dinner on another night. This is the cheapest plan and gives you the best view of both.
Plan 2: Both in one evening
Book a private yacht for the late afternoon. It can sail at any time of day, so you can watch the sunset from the water, come back to land, and walk to the beach in time for the 8:00 PM show.
Busy dates to book early
- Weekends: Friday and Saturday evenings fill up first during the drone show season.
- Christmas Day: Friday, 25 December 2026.

Winter tips
- Bring a light jacket. Evenings on the open upper deck feel cooler than people expect in December and January.
- Arrive early. Be at the boarding point at least 15 minutes before boarding time. Boats leave on schedule.
- Skip the car. Parking around the Marina and JBR is hard in the drone show season. Take the metro to DMCC or Jumeirah Lakes Towers and then the tram, or ask us for a shared transfer (AED 30 per person) or a private car (AED 300 for up to 7 people).
- Celebrating? You can add a cake (AED 150), decoration (AED 250) or a private table (AED 50). Our celebration guide has example budgets.
- Plans change. Cancel at least 2 days before your cruise for a full refund.
