Diwali in Dubai has its own rhythm. Lights go up on balconies across Bur Dubai and Karama, the sweet shops have queues out the door, and families who live far apart in the city all try to end up at the same table on the same night. A dinner cruise is a simple way to make that happen: everyone sits together, nobody has to cook, and the whole Marina skyline is lit up around you.

This guide covers the practical side — when Diwali falls this year, how to fit a cruise around puja, and what to book.

When is Diwali 2026 in Dubai?

Diwali landing on a Sunday is good news. Most people in Dubai work Monday to Friday, so Saturday and Sunday evenings are both free for a family dinner.

Puja first, then the cruise: how the timings work

Published calendars put the Lakshmi Puja muhurat in Dubai at roughly 6:00 PM to 7:55 PM on 8 November. Remember the UAE is 1 hour 30 minutes behind India, so do not use Indian timings. Your family pandit or temple will give you the exact time.

Our evening cruises board between 7:45 PM and 9:00 PM, depending on the boat. Here is the honest picture:

The food: is there enough for vegetarians?

Yes. The buffet has separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian counters, and it is a full vegetarian line, not just a salad on the side. All food on board is halal. Soft drinks and water are included.

If anyone in your group eats Jain food or no onion and no garlic, message us on WhatsApp before you book. We will tell you honestly what the kitchen can do, rather than promise something on the night.

Premium VIP Marina CruiseAED 150A special night: 5-star buffet and red carpet welcome

Where to see Diwali fireworks in Dubai

Private fireworks are not allowed in the UAE, so the official displays are the ones to look for. In recent years Dubai has held Diwali fireworks at Al Seef on Dubai Creek and at Global Village. The official 2026 programme had not been published when we wrote this, so check Dubai's official events calendar in early November.

To be clear: our cruises sail inside Dubai Marina, not on Dubai Creek, so you will not see the Al Seef fireworks from the boat. If fireworks are a must, plan them for a different evening of the Diwali week.

Small things that make the night easier

The short version

Diwali is Sunday 8 November 2026. Finish puja, then board at Dubai Marina — 8:00 PM for the dhow, or up to 9:00 PM for the Luxury Marina Cruise if you are travelling across the city. The buffet has a full vegetarian counter, prices start at AED 90, and children under 3 go free. Book early if you want your whole family at one table.
